through our process
First let’s have a chat
We realise it can be a daunting time, you may have been thinking about looking for help for a little while, or maybe it’s something you’ve only just started considering. Whatever your circumstances we’re here to help guide you through the process in order for you to choose the care that’s right for you.
Our experienced team are here to discuss yours or your loved one’s requirements. We will take time to listen to you to find out more about your circumstances and hear what you’re experiencing. This initial chat enables us to understand your needs, and what services we can provide that will ensure you will feel at ease and comfortable in your own home.
We will then be able to talk through the different kinds of care services we offer before arranging a visit to discuss everything in more detail.
We’ll then make a home visit
We will arrange to come and visit you in your home at a time that suits you best. From there we can discuss all the options available in greater detail, taking into consideration your environment and any specific requirements you may have.
We’ll also ask about your interests and hobbies, this is so we can look for a caregiver who you will have a lot in common with, giving you both lots to chat about. Because it’ll usually be the same carer (or small team of caregivers), we really want to find someone who’s a great match.
This is also a good time to ask any questions you may have thought of since the initial chat. Remember, we’re here to help you, so if there’s anything you think of that will make life a little easier for you, however small, please don’t hesitate to mention it, and we’ll do our best to meet your needs.
Time for introductions as you meet and get to know your care team
Following our chats, we will look to pair you with a caregiver (or caregivers) who has similar interests and hobbies.
Getting to know and building trust with your caregiver matters. It’s important to us to provide you with a professional who is both the best suited for supporting your needs as well as someone you can connect with on a personal level, and who is someone that you feel comfortable with in your own home.
Introductions can be carried out either at your home or in a relaxed environment somewhere locally. As this will be the first time you will be introduced to your caregiver, it will simply be just that, an introduction, and no care will be carried out. It will be an opportunity to meet each other, and most importantly, to make sure you feel comfortable with them before they start to provide care in your home.
Getting to know your carer
There’s often a settling in process as you first get to know your caregiver, you may hit it off in the first 10 minutes and be chatting away as if you’ve known each other for years, however it’s more likely it will take a bit longer than that. We will do everything we can at each stage to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
Your caregiver will be there to provide you with a professional service, to look after your health and wellbeing, but also to offer warmth and empathy too. They will respect your home as would any other guest and offer companionship as well as carrying out practical tasks. They will be there to answer any questions you have to help make your life more comfortable, and ultimately look forward to building a new relationship with you.
